Backing our Apprentices and Trainees

Our industry remains essential to our daily lives and, as importantly, is going through a revolution as we strive towards our renewable energy and carbon neutral goals. We need great people to take today’s challenges on. Developing the talents of our existing #TeamSinewave members and gaining new talented people is at the forefront of our strategy. We are very proud to share the fantastic steps we are taking to support our people’s professional development.

We have partnered with New College, Swindon to develop our apprentice programme and provide our people the opportunity to pursue professional qualifications. Two of the team, Dan and Brad, have started their Engineering Manufacturing Technician L4 and are getting used to college life one day per week. We are committed to support development routes that are right for the individual, the projects and future work we are taking on.

Brad and Dan are very positive about the programme and shared their thoughts with us:

Brad is one of our trainee project engineers

"Really happy and pleased to have the opportunity. We have been given extra time and new laptops to make our learning easier. This shows that Sinewave want to keep us. Feel we have a brighter future.” -  Brad Carleton, Junior Project Engineer.

Dan Fenton added “This is a great opportunity and good to improve my skills. We feel very supported by the team and our colleagues are available to help including our CEO Adam Woodley. We have great prospects”

These development apprenticeships are made up of 1 day a week at college and the rest of the week working with our experienced and skilled employees both in the office and out on site

Caroline Maycock, of New College Swindon added "We are excited to be partnering with Sinewave whose future goals involve massive expansion plans in regards to training, development and apprenticeships for our local community.

We are proud to be supporting them, not only with their recruitment for new talent ensuring a sustainable business strategy, but also to reward existing employees with further opportunities to develop their skills and progress their career.  Sinewave are passionate about training and development and we are delighted to be working collaboratively, by discussing their future business needs and together, formulating a plan to offer training to degree level through our Institute of Technology.”

The apprenticeship programmes are the first Sinewave have been involved with and working closely with New College Swindon, we are providing our trainees excellent training and experience which sets them up for a successful career.

Richard King, our Head of Networks and Engineering commented "We know we need to increase the number of skilled workers across the whole industry and embrace the new energy solutions. We believe this will support to fill this gap and be a part of delivering the next generation of professionals."

Richard continued "This is just the beginning of our commitment to influence the growth of our people and our industry."
