Sinewave awarded ICP works for Low Carbon’s Fern Brook Battery & Solar project.

Sinewave is pleased to announce the commencement of grid connection works for Low Carbon’s Fern Brook Battery and Solar project.

Founded in 2011, Low Carbon is a global renewable energy company that has created more than 1GW of renewable power capacity through solar, wind, and waste to energy, powering the equivalent of 390,000 homes. The company is aiming to deliver 20GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, with more than 10GW currently in development across the UK, Europe and North America.

As a NERS accredited Independent Connection Provider, Sinewave has been appointed by Low Carbon to carry out the ICP works for the Fern Brook project. The 25MW scheme is going to be connected at 33kV and expected to be energised in Q3 of 2024. The grid connection consists of a new 33kV switchroom, auxiliary equipment and over 4.5km of cabling works. Upon completion, the grid infrastructure will be managed by Eclipse Power Networks.

The team at Sinewave is particularly excited to work with Low Carbon, who are committed to making a positive impact on tackling climate change. Both Low Carbon and Sinewave hold B Corp certifications and share a commitment to embedding sustainability into their approach to business ensuring a balance between people, planet and profit.

Simon Roberts, Head of Project Delivery at Low Carbon said: “We are pleased to begin work on this important phase of the project with our partners at Sinewave. Once built, Fern Brook will generate enough clean energy to power over 8,000 homes locally, while also cutting bills for consumers and supporting the UK government’s ambition to deliver 70GW of solar PV capacity by 2035."
