Pressing matters at Sinewave...at a glance
Through the second half of 2021 and January 2022 Sinewave have been attracting interest from the press, both local and regional. As our business continues to grow and develop, especially in the exciting EV charger space, interest has spiked from both printed media and local radio. We wanted to wrap up some of those highlights from the last few months!
Top of the table (of both stress and enjoyment) was our Founder Adam and Commercial Director Ashley being interviewed live on the BBC from the stage of the EV World Congress. The BBC were interested in where SInewave has come from to be one of the leading ICP's (Independent Connection Provider) in the utility space. Second topic was the interest in EV chargers and the race to #electrify the transport sector.
The BBC were covering the EV World Congress itself but being live on air on breakfast radio was a nerve wracking moment for both!
News of our sponsorship of the EV World EV congress was also of interest to local printed press with stories running online of us sponsoring such an event with attendees from all over Europe and presentations from state departments in the US.
Most notable at the event was the opening speech from the Deputy Mayor of London, Bristol Airport and panel discussions including car manufacturers such as Volkswagen, FirstBus, BP and of course Adam and Ashley from Sinewave were participants in a keynote presentation and panel discussions.
The Business Exchange
Adam has also attracted interest from regional business magazine The Business Exchange with a feature running on both him and Sinewave's growth plans in November 2021.
As Sinewave changed leadership and structured for growth in 2020 the plans for the business and Adam's profile in the local community has been of interest in both press, local colleges and places of further education. Sinewave have engaged with FE establishments and started to present to interest and engage local students to the world inside an ICP.
Almost a follow up to the profile in November The Business Exchange ran another feature on Sinewave in January 2022 as our presence in the EV sector becomes even more pronounced. Boasting national clients and household brands such as BP, Motor Fuel Group, National Rail, Abellio and GoAhead among others The Business Exchange ran a feature on the profile of our work in the EV space, entitled (flatteringly) "Sinewave - A Wiltshire business driving the EV revolution." Naturally we'll take it but it over eggs our influence!
Conrad Energy Appoints Sinewave
Sinewave's appointment by Conrad Energy made news on various business and construction sites. Appointed as independent connection provider (ICP) for two gas generation sites with a combined value of almost £1m this was an exciting week at our HQ!
Our BDM Andy Williams, (pictured here with Tomasz from CE), took the plaudits rightly having worked hard to secure the work for us, and we are about to start construction and have more works to follow.
Carbon Reduction Plan
One of our notable commitments in 2021 was our pledge to reduce carbon emissions, and our partnership with Planet Mark as well as the start of our journey top achieve B Corp status was also covered online. One of our proudest external achievements of 2021 was the Planet Mark accreditation.
At the time of achieving accredited status the Planet Mark 'battle bus' (electric) was en-route to COP26 in Glasgow to join the convey of electric vehicles that were arriving into Glasgow to mark the start of the event.
On it's tour of the UK to bus stopped in Swindon at the steam museum close to our HQ (shown below). Ironically this site will soon be a project site for us as we have been commissioned to install EV chargers for a well known EV manufacturer.
This will be our third EV charger project in Swindon with our fourth and fifth already planned in for 2022.
We hope you'll agree we've achieved good coverage in the last few months for our sector but we've bigger goals in 2022 again! Check back for more updates in the coming months.
